Club Angels

Club Angels are teams of Christian volunteers who work inside and alongside nightclubs in towns, cities and student unions, to promote and ensure a safe and happy night out for all.

The idea was piloted in Leeds in 2011 as a development of the Street Angels scheme, and has become a ‘great idea model.’ After great success, the brand is set to be launched in clubs and bars across the UK.

Club Angels work with the nightclub staff. They often work in the busy areas assisting with glass collection, in female toilets being a listening ear and assisting with people who have become unwell, and in the outside and front door areas working to ensure people get on their way home safely.

They wear t-shirts which display their logo and job description – to‘help, chat, listen and care’, which is what they do. The t-shirts also say ‘p.s. we’re Christians, ask us more if you want'. The Club Angels do not bible-bash, they merely respond to the very frequently asked questions people have about life, the world, God, and the universe.

Above everything else, the Club Angels seek to love the person in front of them – in whatever ways they can.

In Leeds the Club Angels work in Tiger Tiger (on student night) and in the Leeds Uni Student Union bar. For more information:
