Frequently asked questions...
For more information contact our volunteer coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How often do I need to come out?
We try to commit to being part of the team at least once a month.
What support will I get?
We always work in groups of a minimum of three. We have team leaders and project leaders to ensure the structure is there to run an effective organisation. We build relationships with door-staff, police and medical teams, and chat with people who are out and about.
What training will I get?
We offer training such as first aid training, food hygiene training and various other courses (often provided by external, qualified introductory and agencies).
What will I be doing?
It depends which one of our projects you volunteer for!
Weekend, evening town centre patrols involve walking around the town as a high visibility presence, being able to provide basic help (directions, flip flops, bottles of water and basic first aid) to people who need it.
On certain week nights we run a soup kitchen outreach - with this project you will be involved with serving food and refreshments.
We also run projects where we need people who can give one night (or more) every two weeks to sleep over at our facility and support one of our supervisors and another volunteer in running our overnight accommodation project; a place where vulnerable people can get a bed for the night.
Do I have to be a Christian to volunteer?
No. Street Angels is a Christian organisation, however our volunteers come from different backgrounds, span a range of age groups (over 18 years old) and all bring a wealth of experience to the project.
We would love for you to get involved!
What to do next:
Please fill in our application form below and provide us with contact details for two referees. Once you have been received you will be invited to come to an induction night and come on patrol as an observer. If we and you are happy we would then love you to become part of our regular Street Angels Team.
